2013: Living Life After the Said Doomsday

The Mayans have predicted that the world will end on December 21, 2012. However, with all the people who have prepared themselves for that day, believing that the world would really end with catastrophes, aliens coming along, and other more uncertain things that would happen into the world as they have said, such prediction did not happen.

That prediction of the Mayan has made almost half of the world a little crazy; with some denominations having a double time in preaching the Gospel, telling people to surrender their lives to God for the end is very near (well, there is nothing wrong with what they do then), while others have kept on doing things which they believed could hide them from the said ending (this is what is crazy), such as men wearing foils because they an alien spacecraft would come and saved them from what the Mayans have predicted. There also is one man who paid workers to build him a bunker wherein he would hide when the said apocalypse will happen. And if you were to search it on the internet, well, you’ll surely find a very long list of weird things the people did that time.

The Mayans’ prediction of the doomsday, or what they commonly called the Mayan Apocalypse have brought such impact to the lives of many people, especially to those who believed that it would really happen. The good thing: it made people prepared, making each day of their lives count, wasting nothing of their time- spending it with their families, doing good to other people, and drawing nearer to God. However, not all are on the same boat with regards to this matter, for there are also ones who have been traumatized because of the fear they felt as that time draws nearer and nearer.

Living life after the said doomsday is quite hard especially to those who have been traumatized. Coping up is never easy, and will never be especially if they are still haunted by their fears and worries. However, the Bible gives us an assurance that “He will also keep you firm to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. – 1 Corinthians 1:8”

May you be one of those who have already coped up or one who is still living in trauma, one thing should be kept in your heart- that in the Lord, there is hope. The end of the world may be coming, but surely the Lord will never forsake us.
